| The lesson program is one of our most important functions at
Stonehouse Stables. All riding instruction is performed by or under
the watchful eye of Tara Mathews Best. English Hunt Seat Equitation, a type of English riding most commonly associated with foxhunting,
is featured. Hunter horses travel smoothly and jump both in the show
ring and in the hunt field. Development of proper equitation skills
increases the riders ability to control the horse as well as compete
successfully in the show ring. |

Introductory package |

This package is
offered at the special price of $275 for five half hour private lessons. The special
introductory lesson package includes the use of a horse, suitable
tack, and your own personal copy of The Happy Horseman book, and even
the use of a riding helmet if you do not own one. Please wear
long pants, boots or shoes with heels and plan to arrive half an
hour early to get ready for your riding experience! |

Youth Lessons: |
| We
offer special lessons for those whose horse enthusiasm is high
at a young age, and want to get started early in their riding.
We have a variety of activities for our youth to enjoy
themselves. These lessons are for children ages 5 to 7. |

| Leasing: Leasing of
school owned horses is possible only for our own riding
students. To make showing possible for our students, we lease
school horses per division on show days, both at home and away
(see showing and hunting section). We also do half leases and
full leases which provide riders considering purchase of horses
or who want a more extensive riding experience beyond the lesson
program, a unique way to have a relationship with one of our horses
without full ownership responsibilities. |
