About James Morris:
As Director of Riding at Chatham Hall, James F. Morris coached the Interscholastic Equestrian Association team to three qualifications to the National Championship Finals within the past 4 years - placing Fourth in 2016 and Reserve National Champion Team in 2015. Currently, he is a USEF “r” Hunter and Jumping Seat Equitation judge, judging throughout the country at rated USEF, USHJA, IEA, and IHSA shows. As a member of several committees, USHJA Emerging Athletes Program, the ANRC Committee, the IEA Education Committee, James stays current with trends in the industry and dedicates attention to the next generation of equestrians.
Prior to Chatham Hall, James was the Assistant Director of the Equestrian Center at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, serving as their Head IEA Coach and Assistant Coach to the Intercollegiate Team. He graduated from The University of Findlay in Ohio where he was a member of the 2001 IHSA National Championship team. During his time at Findlay and Mount Holyoke, Morris coached several National Championship teams and individual riders. Morris grew up as a working student in Massachusetts and has trained with some of the country’s top professionals. Whether teaching at home or abroad, James continues to bring his knowledge of collegiate, scholastic, A circuit, and judging experience to equestrian athletes.
